Ceylon Cinnamon, also known as Cinnamomum Verum, is derived from the plant Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Blume, native to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka produces 80-90% of the world’s Ceylon Cinnamon, harvested from the tree’s inner bark. This variety, known for its safety and quality, is preferred over Cassia, Korintje, and Saigon cinnamon.
Ceylon Cinnamon sticks are softer and lighter in color compared to the harder, darker cassia. Minimal foxing, which indicates dampness damage, is a quality marker, with our ‘C4 Grade’ being among the best. Known for its subtle, mild flavor with citrus hints, Ceylon Cinnamon enhances recipes by blending well with other ingredients without dominating the taste.
